Use your outposts and abundant base space to load up on meds and frequently heal/cure the entire community (hospital add on you get fairly early)įerals have the advantage when your fleeing so stand firm and fire at their stupid Arkham Knight helmets. I restarted after losing one of the starter characters feet from my base because she would not heal and was tethered to me until the mission completed. While you can clear blood plague you can not heal them. The AI has a death wish KEEP THEIR HEALTH UP you often are stuck as one character during missions. I equip every character to with the apocalypse melee you can craft (Scenario 2) silenced rifle set to burst (since they don’t use any ammo when you’re not playing as them) 3x health and stamina, and a blood plague cure. Getting stuck in the middle of no where is no longer an annoyance it’s a goddamn fright. Keep gas cans and a repair kit inside every vehicle. The high powered weapons are some of the best in the game and the vehicle mods made plowing through crowds a breeze. In between missions sell any guns you don’t need, scrap excess inventory and use that scrap to invest in either the built-ins specialty weapons or vehicle mods depending on your scenario. These characters matter more than ever before now with specific mods linked to them.Their survival isn’t just a morale drop it’s potentially the forever loss of bullet crafting/ farming/ vehicle mods. If you don’t wanna use up an outpost slot, just avoid those houses. I’ve had ferals spawn back there pretty frequently and that can ruin you, especially in the early game.

They’re all incredibly useful.īe careful around the two houses behind your base. I know hero perks are useful already, but some of the Heartland ones have completely changed what outposts or facilities I’ve had. Some survivors give a serious hit to morale, so it’s worth combating that.Īlso, make sure everyone gets love. I built the rest of my base for morale and skill training. Water and power is also a single (large) facility you can build later, and that same facility also pays for your maintenance, making material management much easier. Make sure to keep up on its upgrades though, since it can produce food and meds at the same time when it’s maxed. The farm can easily keep up on its own if you have seeds, or a yield boosting mod.
